Taurus "Steps Up" for Charity
Thursday 29th November saw the annual Taurus Charity Pub Quiz raise money for Exeter based charity Step One...
Held at the City Gate Hotel in the heart of Exeter, it was an enjoyable evening with Andy Parle, IT Co-Ordinator of Step One, saying a few words about Step One Charity. The quiz started with famous faces and dingbats before the teams competed to win the coveted Taurus Trophy.
After tough rounds themed around the Step One Charity such as Questions relating to all manner of steps, Ones and a traditional music round, the overall winners were the team from The Colleton Chamber who were closely followed by Vision ICT, the 2016 winners.
A fun time was had by all and the attendees raised £1,000 for the Step One Charity. The money will be used to expand their successful self-management sessions which cover mental health and well-being topics. It will also go towards their recently purchased new property in Newton Abbott, which Step One have started to renovate to provide a Crisis House. This will provide a 24-hour service in south Devon to support people who are reaching a crisis point with their mental health.
Special thanks goes to Jelf, Crisp CPD, Crispin Associates, Sandler Training, and Buckfast Abbey for their participation, donating their time, money and raffle prizes for the event.
